#22 emerger

This is about as big as I go... hence the investment in a micro jaw.
Nothing original here, just a proven emerger pattern to fish low in the surface film.



Hook: TMC 2488 #22
Thread: Gudegrod 10/0, tan
Shuck: Teal flank barbs
Abdomen: Stripped peacock quill, olive
Thorax: Blend of muskrat underfur (minus guard hair), pine squirrel cheek hair (including guard hair) and a pinch of Fly-rite clear antron chopped fine (say, 1cm...)
Wing: Niche Products Siliconised Polypropylene Yarn, white

Thanks hummmoss, appreciate your comments. Staying with #22's + stripped peacock quill, here's a simple midge pattern, based on Rik Takahashi's Bow Tie Buzzer design. I've scaled back on the multiple triggers of fine silver wire rib, bright goose biot cheeks and mylar flash wing case... and kept the signature gills, tied at right-angles to the hook shank.
