There is more to tying than catching fish.

Inspired by the fabulous recent collection by Don Bastian, I'm setting-out to tie all 489 traditional
wet patterns from Ray Bergman's book, Trout. Hopefully, the quality of the flies will improve as I progress.

Here's the 1st of 489...

HA, HA, I know what your saying, but if the quality gets much better your going to have to insure the collection with Lloyd's of London. Great stuff buddy, keep I'm coming. I'm going to get a silk hanky to dry my tears. I have the "Forgotten Flies" book if you need a reference to what Don used for materials. One hint he uses Eurasian Jay shoulder feathers because Blue Jay feathers are impossible to get. It's best to look at them if you can before you buy them because the wings are not kept as pairs. If you don't know that.
We'll be waiting with baited breath. Russ
P.S. have fun with the flies that use Bronze Mallard as wings.
